Bio

Roberto González is a freelance science journalist based in Mexico City. He mainly covers the intersection of health and environmental conflicts, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. His beats include pollution, mining, climate change, human rights and tropical diseases. After studying communications sciences (journalism) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, he completed a specialized journalism program to obtain his bachelor's degree. He was a EurekAlert! 2023 fellow. His work has appeared in Spanish and English in Science Magazine, AGU's Eos and SciDev Net, among others. He contributes to "Cachito de Ciencia", a newsletter for the Mexican Network of Science Journalists, of which he is a member.
